We like to read in our house. Well, my hubby, caroline & I do. everett? He just wants to grab, eat and chew books. He’s so different than my last little book worm. It frustrates me, but I will continue to try to read to him. He mostly crawls away and arches his back to get out of my lap and move on to explore the next thing he can get his hands on, but I am not giving up.

The moment I laid eyes on this amazing teepee I was in love. I just knew it would eventually be the anchor for my little man’s big boy room. But for now, it is serving as our reading teepee. Caroline will tell you it’s her “sweepee teepee” but I insist it’s for reading not sleeping. :) Either way, these two sure think it’s pretty fun. & I agree. I haven’t yet seen a cuter teepee out there! You can find yours here, at The Land of Nod. It’s awesome.
how do you make a gif at gickr.com (pardon the poor image quality above, but this was a quick & easy way to animate this little series that I love!)

  • Jessica - Awww…so cute! My Neva didn’t love books as a baby either but now she’s 18 months and can’t get enough of them. We did the same with both girls…just kept reading and reading and reading a ton…I’ll bet Everett falls in love them with too.ReplyCancel

  • Natalie - Man, those arched backs! Why is it EVERY baby knows that trick, inherently!!?? Keep it up, I’m sure little E will come around :)ReplyCancel

  • Lisa - My little guy (almost 14 months) will wander off to his room and pull out a pile of books and then just sit and flip through them :) My hubs was never a big reader (nor a very strong reader, which is probably why he never really got into it), and he is bound & determined to make sure our kids LOVE reading. He tells our son that they are going to learn to love reading together. Melts my heart every time!! (And the teepee? AWESOME!)ReplyCancel

  • darci - Hi there!

I absolutely love this teepee…. and your little ones are adorable! What an amazing room!!

Quick question if you don’t mind as I’m about to order the teepee for my little guy’s 2nd birthday!
1.) What would you consider the cut-off age for this? As in they’re just too big to really fit in there well and use it?
2.) Does it fold up pretty easy / store well? I’m thinking we’ll keep it out all the time in my little guy’s “big boy” room, but just want to make sure that it folds up easily in case we want to put it away for more room every now and then!

Thank you SO VERY MUCH in advance! So glad I found your blog when doing some research on this teepee!! Going to catch up now! :)

    • -shawna- - My almost four year old is totally into it! I would guess we’ve still got several years of use! & I don’t have it out all the time, I like the “special” factor of pulling it out every so often. It is as big as the four poles stand tall–super easy to tuck into the closet. Enjoy!ReplyCancel
