Notice anything different in that metadata??? :):):)

I have a new baby. A new little beast in my aresenal. I have been wanting (and saving for) the 35mm f/1.4L for years…and she finally arrived. I am so so so excited–not only to have a prime L glass lens, but to have this prime L glass lens. She is already pushing me. The 35L is not a portrait lens. It’s fairly unflattering when used in that way. It is a storytelling lens, and that is just what it is making me do. Step back. Step back again. Think. Capture. Reframe. Capture. It’s a little like life right now. What do I want to remember?

I haven’t purchased new glass since I bought my camera two and a half years ago. My BFF gifted me a lensbaby about a year ago, that is fun to play with, but really hard to use with little kids. I used it for some newborn everett shots that I still haven’t edited–and it was fun! I had a brief affair with the 50mm. Then sold it. I am just not a 50mm shooter. Then I picked up the 28mm again, and well…once you shoot through L glass it is reeaaaally hard to go back. I really love my 24-70L. I use it 99% of the time. I am not a gear junkie. I am not a big spender. I wait & wait & buy when I can afford & am ready to grow. So now, there is a new girl in town. I am hoping that her size makes her a little more portable. I want to take my camera with me more. & I can’t wait to play with this wide, sharp, fast beast of a lens. She was worth the wait! & now I can’t imagine ever needing another lens. :)

& can we talk about these golden locks???

I was blonde until five years ago…and my roots still are. :) So fun to see a baby who has at least some of my genes! ha!

Hi! Hello! I am Shawna, the founder of Styleberry Blog. This creative corner of the internet has become a learning haven for moms and creatives, offering a warm and encouraging nudge to those who wish to be better and do better, but often don't know where to start. From Decorating to DIY to Diapers and Paleo-ish Dishes, I strive to make the complicated simple and empower women to take action beyond their personal comfort zone. I subscribe to the Shine Theory & so strongly believe that we shine when the women around us shine and mutual support—lifting up instead of tearing down--will always be the culture here. Are you in? I hope so! Beyond the computer, I run Styleberry Creative where I work with clients to create low fuss, high function spaces that are pretty and practical in San Antonio, Texas and beyond. I LOVE making a house a home. My own studs out renovation is now complete and I am now back to working with clients. Please don't hesitate to drop me a line if you'd like to work together! I hope you’ll join me on this fun new adventure! Xo.
