I often get asked how I “do it all.” & the truth is…I don’t. I make choices. I let go of what doesn’t matter to me & cling tight to what does. But one thing that really affects my productivity is my schedule. I can pretty comfortably survive on about 6-6.5 hours of sleep, just so long as I get to sleep past eight am. If you’re an avid reader of this blog, you know I am a major night owl (up until about 2am usually) but I am also a morning sleeper. & thank goodness my girl is too. I absolutely dread the day where she has to get up for school & get there by 730. I am just not wired for that. I sleep 2-8ish. & that works for us…but someday it won’t!

Lately, my girl has followed my sleep patterns. Despite getting tucked in at eight, she’s reading and playing and all over her room (though gated in) and awake until about ten. I absolutely love going upstairs & seeing how I find her. She’s been asleep on the floor lately…sometimes missing clothing (or adding it!) and often surrounded by babies & books. It’s pretty funny. I hope someday she finds my iphone snaps as amusing as I do. (& don’t worry…I always carry her back into bed & tuck her in…again.)

Oh, to be two.

& ’cause I know you’ll ask, her room details can be found here: the nursery & nursery details. The bed was her crib that we converted. & her amazing duvet & shams are from Land of Nod & are on sale now! There are some great deals to be had here:

& I know I am missing some of you on this list below. PLEASE let me know if you are participating & I missed your link!

Also, many of you are having trouble with copying & pasting my button. Do any of you have a great “grab a button” widget? Mine is obviously not working. If you want my button & can’t get it above, email me at shawna [at] styleberryPHOTO [dot] com. ;)

  • Kelly B. - My Rebekah (3 yrs) is the EXACT same way!! She refuses to stay in bed, loves to change clothes a million times a day (& night), and carts her “babies” around like there’s no tomorrow…..girls are SO much fun! ;-) I love seeing what their creative little minds come up!ReplyCancel

  • Kelley T - I need to be added! My site is We’re Better Together… you and me. tutasfamily.blogspot.comReplyCancel

  • Kacee - I was wondering about her fitted sheet. Does it cover both the box springs and mattress?ReplyCancel

    • -shawna- - they are two separate sheets–just the same pattern! We added the black “frame” on the bottom that runs the length of the mattress–it was supposed to have a dust ruffle to cover the boxspring. I didn’t want a dust ruffle & it wasn’t pretty to look at–so we covered it & left the boxspring showing. Feels more modern to me!ReplyCancel

  • Rachel - Love the angle! How long did it take to get it there and frame it correctly? :) It would have taken me forever:) It has been fun seeing all the different pictures you’ve posted of Caroline in crazy sleep spots!ReplyCancel

    • -shawna- - eh, a minute? I jumped up on her dresser & took two pictures. This was the second one! ;)ReplyCancel

      • Rachel - Haha! Didn’t think of you climbing up there and holding the camera (duh)! I was thinking you had it sitting up on top of a shelf or something. Makes total sense now:). Sorry…my brain is gone today!ReplyCancel

  • Beth - That room is gorgeous!

    Here’s mine for the week:

  • Danielle Guzman - I love it!! Please link me up, thanks!ReplyCancel

  • kandice - I love your sleeping pictures! I miss when Olivia would do that type of thing. But, I remind myself Sophia isn’t far behind… Time is flying so quickly, my baby will be 2 before I know it. <3 Here's my project 52 for the week… although its from my iphone (gasp/sigh) and not my nikon. I didn't pick up my nikon at all this week. :(

  • Ali - You used a crazy slow shutter speed for that shot, which I’m guessing is so you could let more light in. Did you hand hold it?ReplyCancel

    • -shawna- - I did! help my arms tight against my body, stayed as still as possible & snapped! ;)ReplyCancel

  • Marylin - Shawna, I have to ask… How did you get the duvet so nice? I ordered the same one since I needed something without a print and it is the stiffest material ever! Even after washing. I love the look of it on the site but it would take me hours to get it smooth. Please help because I WANT to love it!ReplyCancel

    • -shawna- - I just washed it (in 7th Generation)& threw it on! No ironing or anything. It’s plenty soft to me! Might it be the comforter inside? I think what it’s stuffed in makes a big difference. I only buy comforters from The Company Store–they are fluffy & awesome.ReplyCancel

  • Aja - I would still love to be added to the link up!
These pics are so sweet.. I’m hoping to catch some sleeping pictures of Evie at some point, but she loves it pitch black!ReplyCancel

  • Chelsea - Oh so cute! I always enjoyed finding my kids in different spots around their rooms, too, although it stressed me out when they stayed up til 10 because they never slept in! Now, they don’t have soft carpets or anything to keep them in their room, so some nights I feel like I’ve made 100 trips to put them back in their rooms and beds. Life with young kids. Gotta love it!ReplyCancel

  • Tori - I’m joining up, too! Loving this Project 52!

We haven’t yet moved our little one to a “big girl bed”. She just turned 2, and still loves her crib. I can’t imagine how entertaining it is to find her adorably asleep like that! What fun pictures! Thanks for sharing.ReplyCancel

  • Mahina - That is the most adorable thing!!! And her bedding is so cute… My Project 52 post this week is about how motherhood is “mouthy.” She is gnawing on everything. Thanks for linking up!ReplyCancel

  • Nicole - i love sleep. i wanna be on the blog roll. i cant get your button added to my site. is it still being funky or is it just me?ReplyCancel

  • Mallory - I love that she falls asleep right in the middle of playing! Amazing how are bodies truly know what we need :) Also, amazing? The fact that we moms can exist on extremely little sleep.ReplyCancel

  • Amy moody - Ok gal, link me in! I’m loving this project and working through my novice blues.ReplyCancel

  • McLain - So funny! I have the hardest time getting my 2 year old to go to sleep at night too. We have those same zebra print jammies!ReplyCancel

  • Marylin - It won’t let me post under your reply. You’ve inspired me to try again. The duvet itself is divine. I never even put it in the cover because the cover was so stiff but I’m going rewash it and see how it comes out. *Fingers crossed*ReplyCancel

  • Veronika - I absolutely love your blog! So glad I found it… just in time to because I just posted my project 52 posts up! I would love to link up and join with you :)
Also, I can’t seem to add your button code for some reason, so I will have to link back with text.
Can’t wait to view more link-ups, how fun!ReplyCancel

  • Sara - So I’m a bit late in the game, but I’ve caught up, so who cares right? This year our P52 is called Project Gratitude. I’m actually doing it with my husband as a way to force us to find something we can be thankful for every week and not focus on the negative. We’ll be posting ours on Monday, but I’d be grateful if you’d add us to your list! Thanks.ReplyCancel
