Should I …shouldn’t I……..hmmmm not so sure…….well, this is MY project, for my memory’s sake & I worked hard for that belly, so I WILL. Yes. This is my belly. Less 42 lbs from when that little girl was in there. This is not genetics. This is work. HOW?! Here is my pregnancy weight gain – loss story & here is how I use crossfit to stay in shape. I did not retouch this image. That is me. Empty belly button ring mistake hole & all. I hope to pass a healthy body image on to that little girl…not an easy task in today’s culture. I figure modeling is the best way to teach. So staying active & eating healthy are our normal. Hopefully, she will never think twice about cooking at home and eating plenty of fruits & veggies. & hopefully she will keep me young & active for many more years to come.

here’s to the belly. :]

& thank you Deb, for helping me find the courage to share this image. You look FAB.

AmyLauren - You look amazing :). I hope my belly looks remotely like that after kids!

Chelsea McCown - Good work Momma! You did awesome! I need to get back to working out :\… however, I agree with Drea, I have lots of stretch-markiness that just won’t go away, no matter waht :(… But I can still have a flatter stretch mark tummy if I worked at it harder! :)

Michele @ Healthy Cultivations - I think it’s wonderful that you posted this photo. Modeling is definitely the way to pass on healthy habits… good for you, good for her.

And I’m doing Project 52 as well @ http://www.healthycultivations.com

Tamara - Soooooooooooo not fair!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m working on mine…maybe I should take a ‘before’ and ‘after’? I’ve been eating RAW and oh my goodness does it make a difference in how I feel! Talk abou energy and feeling good! You look amazing! Great work and thank you for sharing! Its inspiration to say the least :)

Wendy - Wow.. you look like you never had a baby! You look great!

Amber - You look great! I wish my tummy looked like after birth. I neglected to exercise while pregnant and now 5 months after giving birth have only just started to exercise. I think we had an opposite approach towards pregnancy weight gain and now I am paying for my eating habits. 65 pounds! That’s what I gained while pregnant and now I still have about 35 pounds to get off. Is cross training something possible to do from home? If so, I’m in :) Thanks for your encouraging posts!!!

Mara - Awesome! I worked out during all three of my pregnancies… have lost the baby weight but will never look like I did before I had kids. I am small like you and have big babies…and carry them WAY out front. If I want a cute belly I would need surgery get rid of the extra skin – yikes!

ElisabethCS - Okay okay!!! I have been wanting to find the nerve to do this. Show everyone that it can be done!!! And even after three kids!!! I would like to do this with you!!! I need to take some pix though. Thanks for giving me the courage!!!

Kaylie - Love the little one with the makeup brush in her mouth looking up at you. So adorable and adds so much to the picture. And yes, post that picture with pride…you earned it.

Erinn - Good job having the confidence to show “your belly.” You make me proud, since I’ve also done it! Looking good lady. I love Caroline in this picture. You’re modeling making smart choices in regards to eating and remaining active to a child, who even at this age, is impressionable.

Drea - Yup it takes work to get back to a flat stomach after kids.
I just started p90x again for the 2nd time. I did it before my 3rd born and was in awesome shape. Gained 27lbs with his pregnancy.. and now im on week 4 of p90x again. So far so good.

Im pretty small without doing much, but the stomach is an area that needs lots of attention. However, not all women are blessed like you in the fact, despite how much work they can put in and days, hours and weeks, they will never be “flab” free- due to something called stretch marks. I have LOTS and still struggle with my self image because of it. I fight not to be jealous of mothers who dont have them.. and often just wonder why I had to get them. What did I do differently? Not a thing.. and in fact I was smaller than most women… but my skin just didnt stretch like some…

any way.. Im super happy for you. You look amazing.. I do hope your beautiful stomach doesnt make someone upset tho who will never have that despite the same amt of work put in…

Id say
If you eat healthy
and work out
It will go away to a degree :)

For us stretched mark mommies.

Emily W. - This is super motivating! I’m due with my first baby March 26 and it is super encouraging to see that the weight can and does come off with hard work!

[Reply]

shannel - thank you for motivating me. I’m thinking about postpartum exercise options. I know I will be training for a half, but want to be doing strength training too. The link to your crossfit post is great, and I like the idea of looking back a week and choosing workouts and the crossfitmom.com website being a good starting point.

The Up North Writer Mama - Thank you for sharing this! You really look fantastic and this is very motivating for me. I really need to get a move on it (quite literally). It’s been six months now, I can stop using “I just had a baby” as an excuse. My only problem is that I’m breastfeeding and it makes me ravenous sometimes! I need to be better about keeping our house stocked with healthy snacks. Time to dust off my 30 Day Shred DVD!

I want my son to know his parents as healthy and active. I don’t want him to have issues with food, either.

Amy - You look awesome! I’d be SO proud of this post if I were you …. you earned that body so you should feel so proud of yourself for how amazing it is!

[Reply]

Ash Leppek - You look great!! There’s definitely no reason why you should be worried about posting this! I wish I could say that I was good about exercising. Then I might actually have some muscle on my body to balance out how much weight I have lost and not look so skinny.

[Reply]

Cassie G. - You look fantastic! I too am working hard during this pregnancy to stay in shape in order to make it easier to get back into shape after my baby girl is born. Keep it up girl!

[Reply]

Jennifer Chaney - Yay!!! So awesome! I totally agree… I gain the same amount of weight with my babes, too. My youngest is 3, and I couldn’t loose that last 10 pounds no matter how much I exercised. Finally started to eat really clean and do The Dailey Method and the weight has been dropping off so easily. I’m so happy to read you have a similar story. Rock on, sister. You look amazing! (My favorite part of the picture is your little peanut in the corner looking up at you. SO cute!)

Whitney - You look FANTASTIC! I also love Caroline on the side with the blush brush. You should be proud of your body and the healthy image you are protraying to your darling daughter.
