My husband keeps singing me the chorus of that stupid Katy Perry song…you know…the one that goes “’cause you’re hot then your cold, you’re yes then you’re no, you’re in then your out, you’re up then you’re down.” That one. It’s been that kind of week.

Nine months ago I took a test that told me I’d have a baby this week. I put it in iCal. & then…you know what happened. Well, my iCal did not forget. Neither did I. & I can’t help but think of what life would have looked like this week if that little one had made it.

I am so grateful that there was a little person kicking me all day on my “due date” but I’m still sad. I could cry just thinking about it. & I have. But then I feel guilty. How dare I be sad when I have so much to be happy about? But losing a pregnancy is something that you don’t just “get over.” At least not for me.

I am so grateful. So full of faith over this little person that is now halfway along towards it’s very own due date. But I have not forgotten. Everything in my life has been woven in such a lovely way, and occurred with such perfect timing so far. What’s to say this is any different? I know that parts of my story aren’t all “sunshine and lollipops” (another one of my hubby’s favorite phrases) and that’s probably just how life should be. There has to be some rain along the way. But it makes the flowers grow, right?

me + belly at 20 weeks. :) & still avoiding maternity clothes at all costs. ;) Miss Anthromollogies is my non-maternity fashion inspiration. She’s 38+ weeks along. No maternity clothes in sight. Happy to report…my dress above is an xs from anthro and still fits! I am so not buying maternity clothes this pregnancy!! Molly–you look FAB! Do any of you have style tips for getting through pregnancy in non-maternity clothes? I’d love to hear them. I’m determined. :)

Hi! Hello! I am Shawna, the founder of Styleberry Blog. This creative corner of the internet has become a learning haven for moms and creatives, offering a warm and encouraging nudge to those who wish to be better and do better, but often don't know where to start. From Decorating to DIY to Diapers and Paleo-ish Dishes, I strive to make the complicated simple and empower women to take action beyond their personal comfort zone. I subscribe to the Shine Theory & so strongly believe that we shine when the women around us shine and mutual support—lifting up instead of tearing down--will always be the culture here. Are you in? I hope so! Beyond the computer, I run Styleberry Creative where I work with clients to create low fuss, high function spaces that are pretty and practical in San Antonio, Texas and beyond. I LOVE making a house a home. My own studs out renovation is now complete and I am now back to working with clients. Please don't hesitate to drop me a line if you'd like to work together! I hope you’ll join me on this fun new adventure! Xo.
