six.

SIX?!! Six months!

Gosh. It really hasn’t flown by. I’d be lying if I said it did. I thought the mornings would be easier by now, but they are not.

But, as cranky & tired as I may be, I am forever grateful to have a reason to get up in the middle of the night.

Even if it’s five times.

Good thing he’s cute.

Happy Half Birthday E!

& thank you for still coming here to this little blog.

Preschool starts next week, and while I had high hopes of working while my sweet girl is at school, I can still only squeak out a 35 minute nap from this guy if I am lucky. We’re in the 25-30 min x4 cat nap trap. & I have some serious sleep training ahead. These baby blues just cant seem to stay shut. So we’re doing a lot of this…

Computer? What computer?

xoxo.

Sara B - Catnapping at 6 months is within the range of normal. (and frustrating of course!) Mine all napped longer once they started crawling. Then at around a year they all switched to one nap a day and life got much easier.

I could get a longer nap from them in a sling/ergo – wow I miss those snuggles!

Carrie - Awww! Happy 6 months! Can’t believe all you’ve been through in the last six months and love to see his little smiling face here.

Loving the “regular-type” post. Even if they’re far and few between, it’s nice to see it :)

Jessica - He is precious. And who needs a computer when you have an iphone, right? It does the job well for now! And good luck with the preschool transition. Hope she loves it!

Aja - He’s so adorable!!
We were seriously at that exact same place last summer. 4 or 5 35min catnaps a day, which took at least 20-30 minutes of rocking/bouncing/humming/etc just to get my girl to sleep. And at 6 mo we had finally had it. It just wasn’t working any more (I felt like I was losing my mind some days), and we finally felt “ok” with doing some sleep training. SO hard, but worth it. And honestly, I just don’t know what else we could have done to keep our sanity and help my baby sleep. Fast forward a year, and she’s a dream sleeper! Good luck with E- I hope it goes well (& quick) for you both!

Traci - The 6 month mark was when I did sleep training with my little 30 minute power napper…and EVERYTHING changed! It was a LONG and HARD 2 weeks but looking back it was the BEST thing I have ever done for her! Good luck Momma!

Ashley - Ryann was a terrible napper too until about 6 months. We forced her into a 2 nap a day schedule and did a little sleep training. After that I finally started getting some 1-2 hour naps out of her. It was TOUGH. But eventually it did get better! Hang in there mama.

Michelle - Happy 6 months cutie!!! I hope in the next 6, he lets mommy get caught up on some much needed sleep! He is SO cute and somehow, just keeps getting cuter! :)

Michelle R - Hang in there, mama! Hannah was a cat-napper too until about 6 months. Now, at 13 months, she’s a champion napper and I have to waker her to make sure she’ll still sleep at night. You, and Everett, will get there!

Tara - Beautiful pictures! I don’t know how you do it indoors. I can’t seem to get nothing but blurry pictures with my camera unless I use a flash or go outside. I am so bummed because I can’t to capture my guy’s eyes too! Great job. And hugs to you…I hardly remember the first 6 months with our little guy, it’s just a big fog of sleep deprivation!

Rachel N - My grandma always says that God made babies cute for a reason. In some moments that is their only redeeming quality:)
