My painting project from last week finally made its way from my memory card to photoshop to my blog. Whew! I thought I would post a few more pictures of the final product. I really enjoyed doing it & am pleased with the results. Finally, art that looks just how i wanted it to look! I connected with decogirl on twitter who works for DecoArt and was very moved my their paints when deciding what to use for my piece. I uncapped about a dozen paint colors in the aisle of Michaels and was painting all over myself trying to find just the right shades. I did get a few silly glances but hey, it’s what we do for our art, right?!? So, I ended up using the Dazzling Metallics Elegant Finish line for the dots & embellishment and am still so impressed at the fine shimmer of the paint. I brushed the whole canvas with a sheer layer of the Pearlizing Medium and now it just glistens. The final color choices were Moss Pearl, Rich Espresso & Champagne Gold. I couldn’t be happier!
I had a hard time photographing my work because it is so shimmery that it catches light like crazy and bounces all sorts of different shades of color back, so the close up shots are most reflective of the work in person!
[you can see the difference in the lighting of the room in the pictures above. The walls in person are a soft charcoal gray, Behr Creek Bend, color matched in Ralph Lauren paint. It looks more true to real life in the picture on the above left. It is definitely NOT blue! Rusty is allowed up ONLY if his leopard print blanket is on the bed and somehow, he always wiggles his way off of it. Stinker! And yes, even the dog blanket was made to match the room. It absoultely should!]
