Well…I am back. The last few days were an example of juxtaposition at it’s finest.
As I greeted those in line at my grandfather’s funeral (which lasted until they cut it off after two hours & included over 250 people) so many expressed their condolences, which were promptly followed by congratulations and a belly rub. It was so strange. Not as strange though, as the story my grandfather always shared about his own birthday. On the very day he was born, in the room adjacent to the one in which he was delivered, his grandfather passed away. He always said that his grandfather passed on to make room for him & this was the way life went.
We must celebrate life. We absolutely must. Newborns to me, embody the hope we need to survive. They are such little miracles & blessings. So much anticipation surrounds their arrival and love is so abundant that everything else seems to melt away. I have shared this sweet little one’s mama & daddy, as well as one of my favorite shots from our session. I wanted to spend my first day back to work remembering to celebrate life, and this beautiful little boy is the best way to do this. A gift from above, the most perfect thing on earth. Meet Sammy…
And if you can believe it, this post still excluded mom & dad’s FAVORITE shot! I promised not to post until after the announcements went out…so you get all but their top choice!!
