Oh my. It’s that time again. The 8th of the month has passed…time to get in front of the camera! I started my [this much] project with one goal in mind: get pictures of me & my girl. We never have enough. I am SO THANKFUL that this project forces me to set the self timer to capture us as we go through our days…because this time is so fleeting & I swear, if it weren’t for this project we’d have almost zero pictures together. Woah blogging! Keeping me motivated to hit the shutter button! :)
My baby is now a little girl. Her vocabulary is growing by a zillion words a day. Her ability to communicate is astounding & the way she lights up when I can show her I understand what she is saying is one of the most rewarding things I have ever experienced. Today’s favorite word went along with one of our new favorite activities…
“TIG-TAG” she said & ferociously pointed to the top of her head. “TIG-TAG!!”
“PIG TAILS! YES, those are PIGGY TAILS!” I confirmed. :):):)
Every morning we grab her stool & saddle up next to the sink. She brushes her teeth & I do her piggy tails. I was always the designated hair-do-er growing up. I french braided my teammates’ hair for soccer & softball tournaments. I seemed to be the go-to gal for a lot of my friends who needed a quick fix. I even took on the task of my SIL’s hair for her wedding day. I love styling hair & have been waiting a looooooong 18 months for my little baldy to get some! I think I was born with more hair than she has now, but it is worth the wait! She insists on her piggy tails every day. After her nap when they fall out, we have to go into the bathroom & do them again. Or else she is a broken record, “TIG-TAG…TIG-TAG,” repeatedly pointing to her head until I get the memo. They are the first thing she talks about in the morning. I adore it. I love having a girl. I am such a girly mama. Heaven help me if I am ever blessed with a son. Other than handle power tools & free weights, I am pretty much clueless about the stuff boys like. I can do bows and clothes & makeup & baby dolls & hair. Girls are my safety zone! For now, I will enjoy all that is her little girly self. ‘Cause just when I think she can’t get any cuter…she goes & gets piggy tails. :)
Who is still with me?!! Would you like to join? This project is about self portraits with your babes…are you up for it?It’s not too late!
