Christmas has always been my absolute favorite time of year. Add the wondrous eyes of a two year old and there is a whole new level of magic to the season. The simplest joys light her up. Santa…not so much. But twinkle lights elicit oohs-and ahhs from the back seat and plenty of “it’s so bu-full.” :) I love it. Can’t get enough.
But Santa. Well. At least it wasn’t like last year. No screaming. But no smiles either. Just a few ‘wtf mom…you want me to sit WHERE?’ dirty looks. But she did…and asked for a fire truck, Mater and cars. Don’t let the ruffles fool ya.
FYI locals–The La Cantera Santa is great, and they let you bring your own camera. ;) I just wish it had been a sunny day!
her father taught her this awesome trick: want mom to stop taking pictures? just close your eyes. Thanks, babe.
& trying to be efficient during a recent road trip to Dallas, I brought my Christmas cards. Stuffed & addressed them while the hubs was driving. & then…left them all at my SIL’s house. :( So…good thing I put Happy Holidays and not Merry Christmas…’cause they’ll be late. Whoops.
Wishing you & your family the happiest of holidays. :) May you remember the true giving spirit of Christmas & embrace the joy (and crazy!) of the family you spend it with!
