I recently highlighted a couple of things from the recent episode of Real Simple. Real Life. that I thought were good ideas. Well, I watched again this week, and while I still find the hosts a little too much to handle, they do come up with some great life management tools. I am always amused to get inside other people’s homes and see how they live. The clutter and disorganization of this week’s gal was unbelievable! I take for granted that in my home, everything has a place. If everything has a place, there is no clutter. It’s so easy! The overwhelming feeling I’ve seen people get when they discuss the state of their home so often comes down to simple organization!
Design your space to have hidden organization, and keep your stuff in the right place! It REALLY is that simple!
So the home office featured a really cool wall calendar that is so cheap & easy to recreate. It is made of cup hooks twisted into the wall with tags on them that represent tasks. I like the idea of moving tasks to the following day if you don’t complete them. I really love the literal “throwing away” of tasks when they are completed. I don’t think I will ever be able to switch from outlook & the ease of the use of it on my phone (mostly for the “reminder” feature) but this is really cool if you work from home and really need some visual structure to your days.
On another TV note, are any of you Top Design fans? Did you catch the finale? What did you think? I have to say, I just do not get Nathan’s design. He is so random to me. Ondine, way too shabby chic/eclectic. I LOVE PRESTON. Oh, I would love to spend a week with him learning. I think he is SO talented. His designs never cease to amaze me. Simple, swanky, polished. Love it! Have any thoughts?
