Oh. My. This image makes me laugh. Well…now I can laugh. I did not laugh then. Why? Because what do you think happened about a second after I took that picture? I’ll give you one guess. Yep. Had to make myself another coffee. & clean this one off the coffee table & out of the carpet. Oh the joys.
All I can say, is thank God for coffee. I drank decaf while preggers. I drank it half caf for the first few months after she was born. Then, when I learned it had no affect on her sleep schedule (she was exclusively breastfed through one year), I started my morning double shot lattes once again. & they were heaven. I highly recommend learning how to make a latte at home. It’s my morning bliss. As long as it goes in my belly and not off the coffee table.
Mug is from Anthropologie in Berkeley. ‘Cause I know you’ll ask. I love it too. :) I want them all.

Ok, do you have a mission style lift top coffee table? Because I think I have the exact same one. I recognize the cuts in the top. Could it be that I have StyleberryStyle?!
Oh, this is my favorite yet. I LOVE that tiny little finger of mischif. And I’m reading this with my mug of (homemade) mocha close by. You really need to look into publishing these as a book for everyone. I would buy it based on the photography alone, but add in your spot on comments and it’s every SAHM’s day.
haha, I love this! I love that you can just see her hand. So cute. It was less cute when I was out to lunch yesterday and I was trying to take off my son’s coat and he reached over and knocked over my entire (full!) glass of ice water. Motherhood is… embarrassing. (But so amazing.)
@Kate–it’s an Ashley Furniture one from about 7 years ago! On it’s way out though…need a round on in there & have been hunting for the perfect one for over a year. :[
@Meghan–you are the sweetest! I have been throwing this around in my head. Might be a fun little mommy gift to give with my “other” project that is nearing production! :)
I totally relate with this post! I can’t tell you how many cups of coffee I have spilled on my white carpet while playing with my boys! ahhhhh. luckily, i have a good stain remover. and for me, playing with my boys while drinking my own version of a latte(sugar, milk, creamer and oh yeah, the coffee) is one of my favorite parts of the day!
i did 1/2 caff with both, now all three pregnancies and i’m happy to hear your full caff had no connected effect on sleep for caroline. i’m reading babywise too so hopefully i can share a similar sleep experience! :)
FYI the term “exclusively breastfed” means no nonhuman milk, no food, no water, no juice. I have seen this term used a few times in the wrong context and didn’t want readers to be confused. I could be wrong, but I’m assuming you didn’t feed your daughter only milk for the entire first year. If you were feeding solid foods, then you were not exclusively breastfeeding.
