Well. We are definitely approaching two. & I am learning lessons about both myself and my daughter. She is trying everything under the sun to get her way around here & I can totally see how moms give in & let their kids have what they want. It’s pretty much exhausting to set and maintain boundaries. I am hoping that it will be worth it in the end (it has been so far) but as she gets older the resistance grows…as does the volume of her voice & the theatrics of her drama-laden fits. Sometimes it’s all I can do to keep from laughing…but laughing will make it worse. I learned that the hard way. All she really wants to do is make mama smile…swear.
& yes, our amazingly kind boxer, Rusty Nuts (as we so lovingly call him) allows her to carry the leash to & from the mailbox every day. We all know who can easily be in control of this…but he allows her think she’s the boss… ;) He’s the sweetest.
