Dude is on the moooooove…backwards. Poor little guy. He keeps getting stuck & pissed and I try my hardest not to laugh because it is just so darn CUTE!

We are getting sleep in this house. Hallelujah!! (can you tell? how many blog posts this week?!) The amount of sleep he gets directly correlates to the amount of food he takes in. So, food it is!!

Whatever it takes.

Seriously.

:D

Happy Friday!

(how long has it been since I said that?!!!)

Nicole - So glad you are getting more sleep! I was actually thinking that Everett must be sleeping more when I read your post yesterday.

My daughter is about 2 weeks younger than your Everett… and she is also moving backwards! She is getting frustrated for sure, however today she took a couple spurts forward so I think we are getting close to full-on forward motion!

aimee - My little 7-month-old is currently a backwards-mover too. He is getting stuck in all kinds of places!

Isabel North - Yay for more sleep! I so admire your patience and persistence with him! As you know I did BLW with Elisabeth but Henry is totally into food so I’m sticking with the purees for him for now too. WIth that, this is like first time mom stuff for me so I’ve been wondering how to keep rotating the foods I’ve introduced while introducing new ones. I’ve been sticking to mostly veggies for now (avocado, sweet potato, butternut squash, peas and carrots) but gave him some bananas this morning and will probably introduce apples next week. But what’s your method for rotating these so he doesn’t get burned out on them?

Megan - The positivity you possess even in the struggle is inspiring. So glad more sleep is being acquired in that house! Keep up the beautiful work mama.

Julie Meier - What a bittersweet picture! He is so handsome! So glad you are getting sleep!! Love the new posts! My 4 yr old PICKY eater will be getting a planetbox soon, and my new addition will thank you for teaching this momma about CDing and drug-free deliveries!!

Ter - Great post, as usual! You really are a great inspiration to us mommies out here. My first (and only) babe turns one today, and she was/is a VERY easy baby just like Caroline. After reading that you found out that E’s sleeping is in direct relation to his food intake, do you think if you had to do it all over again that you would’ve introduced food earlier than 6 months, even though that’s the recommendation from the AAP? Just wondering because I intro’d food at 4 1/2 months and was thinking about waiting until 6 months for our next baby, until I read this, lol.

-shawna- says:

Definitely not!! Research shows that baby’s intestines/stomach cannot digest food prior to six months–so it’s not just a made up number. In fact, they really don’t need much other than breastmilk until one. :) There are several other big reasons why I wouldn’t–read more here: http://kellymom.com/nutrition/starting-solids/delay-solids/
