I forced myself to take my 24-70mm 2.8 off & put on my 50mm 1.4 today. I think I should do it more often.
I have learned that when you start taking pictures that other people like, they start asking you what your “secret” is. What do you do in photoshop? What actions do you use? What equipment do you have? What I failed to realize as I was just beginning, was that there was no secret. If you know your equipment & you can achieve perfect focus, there is no need to do much of anything else. These days one of my goals is to spend as LITTLE time as possible working in Photoshop. I like to nail it as best I can in camera. Cropping & all.
This image was caught in a split second between tears & a sprint in the opposite direction. There was a window to our left. Beloved monkey to our right. & she’s holding the hood for my lens. I edited this a tad in RAW (white balance & contrast) did some minor retouching of boogers in photoshop & removed her storkbite. Usually I would add a pop of color, but I like this one soft & subtle, just the way it is. I used TRA’s Slice Like a Ninja to sharpen. There you have it.
There is just something about this image that screams Caroline to me. I love it. More than any others right now. ;)
