I saved the best for last. Seriously. This might be my favorite gift that I have ever made for someone. It’s filled with so much wisdom…and aptly named her wisdom tree. :)
Baby showers come & go. Sadly, so do baby socks and bibs and blankets. Not much sticks around & I wanted to change that. I firmly believe that I am a better mother because of the mothers around me, so why not tap into some of that wisdom & make something special? I had visions of Tori standing in her turquoise and pink nursery staring at this with her baby girl in her arms. Soaking in all the smart things that the people she loves most think a mommy needs to know.
I got this crazy idea while surfing pinterest. I combined this idea with this one & visualized this project in my head. Then set out to execute. I asked guests to think of their best advice for a new mommy…in five words or less. Then while she started opening gifts, I snuck away & put it together & presented it to her at the end. I sure hope she loves it as much as I do.
All that is needed for this project is a shadow box (mine came from Marshalls), scrapbook paper, scissors, glue gun, pen & some creativity. [and it was under $20…but probably the most valuable gift!]
After I traced & cut the tree, I glued it down with hot glue. I made the little sign & glued that too. Then I cut a bunch of leaves to use the day of the shower. My little helper worked on an art project of her own right along with me. :)
& this is what the final product looked like! All glued down & ready to hang.
& seriously, this whole thing would have NEVER happened without my fabulous helpers! Emily, Hannah, Anne & Renee (we missed you!) I could not have done this without each of you & your contributions. Planning a party with a guest list of 80 is no small feat. Nor is its execution. THANK YOU!!!
& here is a recap–start to finish. You can click here to see the whole styleberryPARTY series. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
& ode to the always amazing…Amy Atlas! My tablescape was most certainly inspired by her!
